“We are currently in a state of a pandemic. Covid19 has all of us and especially the live music industry firmly under its control. Nevertheless, we are lucky to play some shows with “Jan Delay & Disko No.1“ on a national level during the summer of 2021. During the preparation it became clear quickly that many things would be different than the old “normal”. There are hygiene concepts, rules and special circumstances. We at 4LIVE Production thought about disinfection of microphones. What is the best way to do it? What options are there to accommodate this work step in the production process? And ultimately: what is the safest way? We are primarily talking about vocal microphones of guest singers for example who are different every day. And even if the same artist uses his or her microphone every evening, we still want to eliminate any possibility of infection.
After talking to LAC Labs, we were convinced by the concept of “disinfection through UV-C light”. The disinfection level, the material compatibility and ultimately, the speed at which we can disinfect microphones is exactly what we were looking for.
